Here is a fan video of our recent performance of 8 July, 2024 at Prague’s Jazz Dock. The song is “Let’s Face The Music and Dance,” from our “Between Berlin & Bebop” show. Personnel: Barbora Tellinger, vocalist, John Fresk, pianist, Taras Volos, bass, Martin Šulc, drums, Nela Dusová, tenor sax, Martin Jůzl, trumpet and Štěpán Janoušek on trombone. Here’s a collage of Irving Berlin’s songs from our “Between Berlin & Bebop” show, which we performed at Jazz Dock on March 3rd. It was such a pleasure to work with such talented colleagues! Between Berlin & Bebop featured Taras Voloscuk on bass, Osian Roberts on tenor sax, Martin Šulc on drums, trombonist Přemysl Tomšíček, and Martin Jůzl on trumpet. We are planning on touring this show, to spotlight America’s greatest songwriter, Irving Berlin. Contact us a [email protected] for more information. The following are videos from the latest Tellinger & Fresk album, “As Long As You’re Living.” This is one of the official videos from the previous CD, “Deuce. This is an original piece entitled ‘Like Something Good.’
‘Part Time Love’, from Jazz Live 2012. Another official video, ‘It’s Gotta Be Today’, from our CD, “Deuce.” An early live version of possibly our biggest hit, ‘Please Acknowledge’. With a little help from Barbora’s University of Pretoria Jazz Vocal Ensemble – ‘It Don’t Mean A Thing If it Ain’t Got that Swing”.
‘River of Despair’, from the Deuce album. A Barbora Tellinger original.
Live concert footage. Featuring Tellinger’s university vocal ensemble on her original composition,’ What Women Do”.
This was a fan video. It didn’t capture the entire performance of “Sleeping Bee,” but certainly caught the infectious groove of the song. Here’s an interesting collaborative piece. Jonathan Taylor, old friend and guitarist, wrote the basic song and sent the wonderful guitar track to us. Barbora wrote the melody and lyrics and John recorded Barbora’s vocals and played bass and piano. The video consists of our photos of the various places we have called home. The following are videos recorded in our apartment in response to the Covid lockdown. We called them our “Lockdown Countdown” series. The absence of opportunities to perform live resulted in our fan base clamoring for some performance video in the interim. Here is John’s arrangement of the great old standard, “I’ve Got The Sun In The Morning,” Irving Berlin’s masterpiece from the musical “Annie Get Your Gun.” Barbora’s original composition. This had some serious airplay at one point in South Africa and this is our duo take on it. Part of our Lockdown Countdown series. Enjoy! Greetings, Tellinger & Fresk fans 🙂 Here’s the next installment of our casual Lockdown Countdown. Barbora sings a gorgeous old ballad, “Trouble Is A Man,” which Peggy Lee recorded in 1946. Enjoy! Here’s our next installment of the Lockdown Countdown: a song from “As Long As You’re Living,” the latest Tellinger & Fresk album. The song is “Better Than Anything” and there’s no better way to start your day 😉 Enjoy! Barbora’s original song. Barbora is not only a brilliant singer, but a brilliant songwriter as well. Part of our Lockdown Countdown series. Lockdown Countdown continues with a ballad written by Irving Berlin in 1937 which we reinterpreted. Barbora and I pay another tribute to the extraordinary Irving Berlin in our Lockdown Countdown. This is “Let Yourself Go,” from the 1936 film, “Follow The Fleet.” Enjoy! Dean Friedman’s great song. Part of our Lockdown Countdown series. And today’s Lockdown Countdown was originally recorded by Dinah Shore in 1950. We pep it up a bit 😉 Enjoy! Part of our Lockdown Countdown series. Thinking of my gorgeous daughter Lindsay, half a world away whose birthday was yesterday. Dedicated to our loved ones, scattered around the globe at this time. Barbora’s original song is our next installment of our Lockdown Countdown. And… we DO have MANY good friends in academia, but there’s this particular guy… Today’s Lockdown Countdown installment. Thelonius Monk’s great jazz ballad. Enjoy! And here’s our latest daily installment of the Lockdown Countdown videos. HAVE I mentioned that this is really getting to us? 😂😂😂😂 Today’s installment of the Lockdown Countdown features a ballad written by the brilliant combination of Hoagy Charmichael and Johnny Mercer. Enjoy! Lockdown Countdown continues with our rendition of another great, if obscure, Irving Berlin tune. I like to think of it as my theme song 😉 We’re coming down the home stretch of our Lockdown Countdown, as the Czech Republic gradually returns to normal operation. Here’s another ballad, co-written and recorded by Bing Crosby in 1932. Enjoy! Here’s the final installment of our Lockdown Countdown 🙂 Prague is returning to normal operation and the clubs open up for business again Monday! Thank you for the wonderful response and comments! We shall see you LIVE, and let us know if you’re planning a trip to this fair city. Enjoy! U Maleho Glena is one of our very favorite jazz clubs here in Prague. The owner (also a great drummer) Martin Schultz had all of his artists post on his Facebook page and this is our contribution. Here’s a fan video from years ago in South Africa. One of the rare occasions when John contributed vocally.
